This Subscription Club offering may be amended, modified, or changed during the time that Ster-Kinekor Theatres has this product available at all our cinemas nationwide.  

The SK Subscription Club offer comes with two options for guests.  

  1. FAN CLUB at R289 PER MONTH 
    Get 4 movie tickets per month for you to use with your family.  
    20% discount on a regular combo, comprising of 1 medium popcorn, 1 medium soda and a choice of 1 sweet with each movie ticket 
     
  2. MORVIES CLUB at R399 PER MONTH 
    COME AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN to a maximum of 5x movie tickets per day, at different sessions, not the same movie.

20% discount on a regular combo, comprising of 1 medium popcorn, 1 medium soda and a choice of 1 sweet with each movie ticket.

A price lock for 3 months will apply. The 1st payment is instant and the 2 subsequent payments are in the form of debit orders, set on the member’s elected debit order date. The member will be able to unsubscribe after the third month, whilst logged into their Subscription Fan Club or MORvies Club account. 

Multiple subscriptions are permitted- Parents can subscribe separately for their children but they must ensure each application uses a unique email account. 

SK Club’s 1/2 price Tuesday benefit is not applicable on SK Subscription Club. 

Ster-Kinekor Subscription Club

Who qualifies for the SK Subscription Club? 

The SK Subscription Club membership and eCard is available for use in South Africa only, to persons 18 years of age and older with a valid SA identity document and providing their South African banking details for the 1st instant payment and 2x monthly deductions. Minors may become members with their parent’s or legal guardian’s consent (indicated by the parent or legal guardian completing the application form or giving online permission on behalf of the minor)  

Members will need to create a Ster-Kinekor Profile account to join the SK Subscription Club and enjoy the offering.  Once you subscribe to the SK Subscription Club you will automatically become an SK Club Member and will qualify for the SK Club benefits. You agree to the following by creating a Ster-Kinekor Theatres account:  

(1) you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract;  

(2) you are at least 18 years of age or, if you are a minor, your parent or legal guardian has completed the online application form and given online permission on your behalf of the minor; 

(3) you are a  legal resident of South Africa.  

(4) you agree that Ster-Kinekor Theatres will deduct the subscription fees on the same date every month unless otherwise a different time is communicated in writing until the agreement is terminated.  

Ster-Kinekor Theatres is in a direct agreement with you, the individual, not with the Theatres listed on the Ster-Kinekor Website. 
 
A valid Ster-Kinekor Theatres subscription enables the subscriber to purchase movie tickets (within the limits of the plan purchased) utilising an eCard. Ster-Kinekor Theatres is deemed to have provided the product promised by either of the two methods mentioned below. 
 
A valid SK Subscription entitles you (dependant on the SK Subscription Club offering selected by you) to either:  

  1. Ster-Kinekor: Fan Club subscription 

Get 4 x 2D or 3D movies tickets per month to see any movie at the selected Ster-Kinekor Theatres, in accordance with your selected offering (3D glasses are not included in any membership);  

This excludes premium showings such as: IMAX, Cine-Prestige, DBOX and special events such as premieres and price discounted campaigns like Black Friday or ½ Price Tuesday or special promotions.  

Ster-Kinekor Theatre access is available every day of the week, subject to the theatre’s business hours, availability, and practices. 

SK Fan Club members will also qualify for a 20% discount off a regular soda and popcorn combo which includes a sweet. This can be purchased online via your Ster-Kinekor membership profile, www.sterkinekor.com

2. Ster-Kinekor: MORvies subscription  

Get up to a maximum of 5x 2D or 3D movie tickets per calendar day at any Ster-Kinekor Theatre, according to your selected package;  

This excludes premium showings such as: IMAX, D-BOX, Cine Prestige and special events such as premieres and price discounted campaigns like Black Friday or ½ Price Tuesday or special promotions.  

Ster-Kinekor Theatre access is available every day of the week, subject to the theatres being open, inventory, and usage.  

SK MORvies Club members cannot make multiple ticket purchases for the same session nor can they purchase movie tickets for any other person. Only the registered member can use the card allocated to them and no other person or third party  

SK MORvies Club members cannot use this offer to watch the same movie more than once.  

SK MORvies Club members will also qualify for a 20% discount off a Regular soda and popcorn combo which includes a sweet. This can be purchased online via your Ster-Kinekor membership profile, www.sterkinekor.com 

Ster-Kinekor Subscription Club Terms (these terms apply to both Subscription Club options)

The initial payment for any package subscribed to is instant and is required to be made simultaneously with your application. Thereafter all payments will be executed monthly, and you will be required to pre-authorise such payments. No payments other than those made over our payment portal will be accepted.  Ster-Kinekor will not accept cash or EFT payments.  

You can apply for any package via the SKT website.  You agree to be bound by these terms on completing your application for the SK Subscription Club online. Your digital eCard will be emailed to you in an activation email. Once you receive your eCard it will already be activated but you must still sign-in to receive any additional Rewards which may be applicable: 

If you do not receive an activation email within one business day of application to inform you that you have successfully applied for the SK Subscription Club, please send an e-mail to sksubscriptionclub@sterkinekor.com or contact Customer Care on 0861 MOVIES (668437). If the device on which your SK Subscription Club eCard has been stored, is stolen or damaged, and you can no-longer access your eCard, it is very easy to recover it. Call Customer Care on 0861 668 437 for further assistance. It is your responsibility to ensure that no one else has access to your subscription information. No refund will be payable to you where movie tickets were fraudulently purchased by any person other than you, using your subscription. We will not be liable for any loss or damage that you may sustain should a third party unlawfully access your SK Subscription Club eCard, and you acknowledge that it is your responsibility to ensure that same is secure on your device. 

Ster-Kinekor may make changes to any products or services offered on the website, or to the applicable prices for any such products or services, at any time, without prior notice. Any changes however would not affect the initial 3-month price lock applicable to your package and would only come into effect on expiry of your initial 3-month price lock period.  

Ster-Kinekor Theatre reserves the right to change the rules of movie-going attendance and ticket availability to members at any time. Ster-Kinekor is not responsible for theatre programming, cancellations, or rescheduled performances. By becoming a SK Subscription club member, membership does not give preferential rights of access for any movie or presentation; nor does it give access to films or presentations which are not open to the general public. The SK Subscription Club membership does not give the member access to Ster-Kinekor’s premium formats: IMAX, Cine Prestige, and D-BOX. 

If you wish to terminate your agreement, be aware that the cancellation is instant, and any benefits you have left on your SK Subscription Club profile will be forfeited.

  3. Scroll down to "Cancel subscription"
  4. Click the "Cancel subscription Button".

To make a payment, you must provide the cardholder's name and address, and the card number. Transactions will occur on the cardholder's bank or card statement as a payment to "Ster-Kinekor". If you wish to terminate your agreement, you must notify Ster-Kinekor via your Ster-Kinekor membership profile, www.sterkinekor.com or call centre (provide details as you have above on 0860 movies 668437) 

If you do not contact us prior to the billing date, your card will be charged, and termination will occur at the end of the next billing cycle. Any changes will take place at the end of the period for which fees have been paid and will be introduced in the next billing cycle. 
 
Ster-Kinekor makes all attempts to provide access to 2D and 3D films in theatres nationwide, however, the time and locations for some 2D and/or 3D movies may vary based on theatre inventory, usage, and showtime availability. If the 2D or 3D title and showtime you want to see is not available, Ster-Kinekor will not be held responsible and such failure shall not be a breach of these terms and conditions by Ster Kinekor. Ster-Kinekor Theatres is not responsible if the selected showing is sold out, and we recommend that you book online and arrive to the theatre early and collect your purchased ticket and catering ahead of time.  

Ster-Kinekor holds the right to restrict theatres for SK Subscription Club at its own discretion.  

2D or 3D SK Subscription Club (FAN or MORvies) tickets can be purchased on the Ster-Kinekor website or at the kiosk in the theatre. Ster-Kinekor allows for a single valid transaction of a movie theatre ticket. You do not have the right to stop payment on any transactions made with Ster-Kinekor.  

Ster-Kinekor is not directly affiliated or associated with any theatre chains. All references to theatres and showtimes do not imply direct or indirect affiliation. All listed theatres do not necessarily accept the Subscription Club benefit and their listing on this website does not imply such. Ster-Kinekor makes all efforts to accurately list theatres and showtime available to the public, and listed theatres and showtimes maybe subject to change.  

You agree to respect and abide by the theatre regulations set forth by the venue you have selected tickets for. Ster-Kinekor Theatres will not be held responsible for the theatre’s actions if the venue agreements are violated.  

Lost, stolen, or damaged tickets will not be replaced. If you do not hold a valid ticket, you may be required to leave the premises. You should always keep your ticket stub with you to re-enter the relevant auditorium. Ster-Kinekor Theatres is not responsible if you are excluded from viewing the film under any condition. All film showings are subject to normal restrictions. You have no preferential right of access for any showings except for special events organized for Ster-Kinekor Theatres. You are not entitled to use Ster-Kinekor Theatres in conjunction with any other promotions offered by Ster-Kinekor unless stated otherwise.  

Your membership of the SK Subscription Club is personal to you and may not be transferred to any other person. This means that you if you have purchased the MORvies subscription, you may only use this product for purchasing movie tickets for yourself and no other persons.  

Where you have purchased the Fan Club subscription, you may only use this product for purchasing up to the maximum of 4 movie tickets in a month for yourself or use with your family / friends. Thereafter, your Free SK Club card benefits remain active. 

All tickets acquired through the SK Subscription Club offering may not be sold to any third party. SK Subscription Club benefits are non-refundable and non-transferable. 

Ster-Kinekor Theatres may suspend the SK Subscription, temporarily deactivate, or terminate your account at any time for any reason whatsoever; also including but not limited to the following events:  

(i) You miss a payment. Ster-Kinekor Theatres will contact you by email and if payment is made on request, Ster-Kinekor will reactivate the account within 48 hours of payment. You will not be permitted to use the account until it has been reactivated, or 

(ii) Ster-Kinekor Theatres suspects fraud in any manner connected to entering into or performing the agreement including providing false information; or  

(iii) You breach any of aspect of this agreement, or  

(v) Ster-Kinekor Theatres may require the member to provide documents such as but not limited to, photo ID, to verify member's identity, to detect, prevent fraudulent or suspicious activity on the platform, to fulfil other internal ID verification policies and requirements as it sees fit. Ster-Kinekor holds the right to restrict access to the account and/ or terminate the account in case of failure to comply, or 

(vi) Attempting to sell purchased Ster-Kinekor Theatres tickets to any person; or  

(vii) any other abuse or misuse of your SK Subscription eCard. 

Ster Kinekor Theatres has the right to request photo ID verification. 

Repeat movie viewings are not permitted under the MORvies subscription. These subscription members cannot purchase tickets for the same movie, more than once, even for different sessions. 

Where you do not use or obtain any remaining tickets in any subscription in a month, the unused tickets will NOT rollover to the next subscription month (even if the plan is renewed). In other words, all tickets made available to your applicable plan are to be used in the relevant subscription month, failing which you will not be entitled to purchase, acquire or use those tickets in the following subscription rolling month. 

The SK Subscription Club activation process starts automatically after successfully purchasing a plan and membership starts as soon as the activation process is complete. No physical cards will be issued. Only eCards. Your free SK Club Card benefits remain active.

Legal Provisions

All of the terms and conditions in this document form the basis of the SK Subscription Club and become an agreement between you and Ster-Kinekor Theatres, (Pty) Ltd (‘SKT’). They are intended to protect both you and SKT. It is your responsibility to read and understand them. The highlighted summaries do not form part of the T’s and C’s but have been added for your convenience.

Clicking "join" after completing the application form on the SK Subscription Club membership or accepting the terms and conditions as part of the sign-up process on any of our digital channels (including mobi site and website) signifies your acceptance of these T’s and C’s. A parent or guardian who has signed the application form or subscribed on behalf of a minor shall be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions on behalf of the minor.

SKT may withdraw, replace, vary, amend or add to these terms and conditions from time to time (including but not limited to the earning of points and redeeming them for rewards, in which case the amended terms and conditions will supersede and replace any previous terms and conditions with effect from the date of your next subscription cycle to occur after the changes have been posted on our website. We will endeavour to give you advance notice of any changes prior to their implementation. You will always be bound by the latest terms and conditions (which will override any publicity material.)

SKT may change, replace, temporarily suspend or terminate the SK Subscription Club and a member’s SK Subscription Club eCard at any time with immediate effect upon notice to the member/s. If SKT terminates the SK Subscription Club and a member’s SK Subscription Club eCard, and such termination is not due to any breach of the terms and conditions by the member, SKT will refund the member the pro rata portion of any payment made by the member which relates to any period subsequent to the date of termination.

We may decide to suspend or end the  SK Subscription Club, but we will notify you.

In the event of termination of membership as a consequence of the member’s breach of any term of this agreement, members will forfeit any movie tickets which have been issued for a date after the date of termination and shall not be entitled to a refund of any amounts paid to SKT.

If the SK Subscription Club is terminated because you breached the terms, unfortunately, SK Subscription Club members lose their subscription benefit. 

  If you do not agree to these terms and conditions or any amendment to these terms and conditions you may terminate your membership in writing at least one month (30 days) prior to your next billing date and addressed to   SKT at PO Box 76461, Wendywood, Johannesburg, South Africa, 2144, e-mail us at sksubscriptionclub@sterkinekor.com or call Customer Care* on 0861668 437.

SKT shall be entitled to sell, cede, assign, delegate or in any other way alienate or dispose of any or all of its rights and obligations under the SK Subscription Club without the prior approval of any member. Members may not sell, cede, assign, delegate or in any other way alienate or dispose of any or all of their rights and obligations under the Subscription Club.

You are not allowed to let anyone else use your SK Subscription Club eCard. 

Only the member of the SK Subscription Club may earn points and redeem Rewards on his/her SK Subscription Club eCard.

Only the SK Subscription Club eCard holder can earn points on their SK Subscription Club profile. Not anyone else. 

The SK Subscription Club eCard will only be issued electronically on acceptance of application for membership, and payment made successfully online.

An SK Subscription Club eCard is given to all  SK Subscription Club members. 

Employees, of SKT do not qualify for the SK Subscription Club. SKT’s decision as to whether an individual qualifies for the Sub Club is final and binding. It is agreed that membership of an SK Subscription Club is in SKT's sole discretion and SKT may accept or reject any membership application and is not obliged to provide reasons therefore.

The SK Subscription Club is not open to permanent or casual employees of SKT. We have the final say over who can and cannot be an SK Subscription Club member. 

Any personal data which the member provides to SKT will be used solely for the purpose of administering their membership. All personal data will be used in accordance with SKT’s standard privacy policy including but not limited to the provisions of the POPI Act 4 of 2013 and SKT undertakes not to use the personal data for any purpose other than that for which it is disclosed and in accordance with the provisions of these terms and conditions. By accepting the terms and conditions you give your consent to SKT sharing such personal data as may be necessary for the purposes of administering the SK Subscription Club and to provide the member with information regarding upcoming movies and promotions. By creating an online SK Subscription Club profile and providing SKT with information about him/herself, the member consents to receiving mailers, marketing and other communication from SKT. The member may at any time, in writing, unsubscribe from communications from SKT. The member acknowledges that an unsubscribe request may take 30 days to be activated. Although SKT will use best endeavours to communicate with the member during business hours, by subscribing to receive mailers and other communication from SKT, the member agrees that he/she may receive these at any time of the day or night. ​​ All banking details provided by a member on SKT’s website to facilitate the transaction are not made available to SKT but are stored by your banking institution.

If you create an online SK Subscription Club Profile and provide us with more information about yourself, we will be able to personalise our interaction with you and enable us to provide you with information around Coming Soon movies and to contact you with SK Subscription Club invitations, promotions and have access to a digital dashboard. You can unsubscribe from communications with us at any time – this request will take up to 21 business days to process – but you won’t be able to participate fully in the SK Subscription Club going forward. We also do not keep or store the banking details of members.

 Members may amend their personal information from time to time by:

  • checking their profile online;
  • calling Customer Care on 0861 MOVIES (668437) *;
  • asking for assistance at any SKT cinema, with valid and acceptable proof of valid identification.

The maximum for which SKT would be liable for any loss or expenses sustained by you arising out of or in connection with the SK Subscription Club is limited to a sum equal to the refund of any unexpired and unused points on your eCard. You accept liability for and indemnify us against any loss, cost, and expense you and/or anyone else may suffer as a consequence of your SK Subscription Club membership.

The eCard, at all times, remains the property of SKT and Rewards cannot be redeemed for cash. SKT at all times has the right to monitor the member’s use of the eCard.

We reserve the right to monitor the transactions and use of your eCard. 

Members may from time to time earn Points arising from the use of the eCard, as determined in SKT’s sole election, subject to the following:

  1. To earn points for a transaction at a cinema (including snacks and drinks), the member must present his/her eCard at the till before making his/her purchase.
  2. To obtain a benefit for a transaction online, the member must sign in first before processing online transactions.

​​​​It is the member’s responsibility to verify his/her points balance from time to time. Errors in any balances are to be notified to SKT in writing within 30 days of the posting of such balance by SKT together with documentary evidence to support the claim. SKT will, in its sole discretion, determine whether an error did occur.

This document contains all the express provisions agreed on by the parties with regard to the subject matter of the agreement. The parties waive the right to rely on any alleged provision not expressly contained in this Agreement. Only these terms and any amendment to these terms, in writing, by SKT will be binding on SKT and members.

A Party may not rely on any representation which allegedly induced that Party to enter into this Agreement unless the representation is recorded in this Agreement.

The grant of any indulgence, extension of time or relaxation of any provision by a Party under this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of any right by the grantor or prevent or adversely affect the exercise by the grantor of any existing or future right of the grantor.

If we have ‘let something pass’, this does mean that we are prevented from pursuing it later.

If any term of this document is found to be invalid, unenforceable or pro non scripto, such declaration of invalidity shall not invalidate the remainder of this agreement which shall remain of full force and effect.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa and all disputes, actions, and other matters in connection therewith shall be determined in accordance with such law.
